This Motel was formerly owned and operated by Kurt and Ella Fischer. Their residence was on 22nd St. across from the Notre Dame Motel where they had a 1 bedroom apartment added in their house and a parking lot with an honor drop box to pay the fee. In late 1980 they sold the Palm Crest and built a large apartment on the second floor and and a small Motel-sized room on the first floor and was called the Southgate Apartments.
