24th Street Motel
2401 Surf Avenue
North Wildwood, NJ 08260

(609) 522-8334

For decades, the starburst-shaped neon emblem of the 24th Street Motel served as a beacon to travelers and a familiar landmark to locals near the southern end of North Wildwood's Surf Avenue strip. After nearly a half-century of proud operation, the motel closed its doors for the final time in September of 2005. It was promptly demolished in favor of new condominiums.

All Star Motel
5501 Ocean Ave.
Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260

(609) 522-6845

The story on "The All Star Motel" (fact or fiction) was that some of the original owners in the early 1960's were Sonny Jurgensen, Tommy McDonald and Pete Retzlaff of the Philadelphia Eagles and Curt Simmons of the Phillies as well as local Wildwood legend Eugene "Scoop" Taylor...thus "All Stars". There was also a supposed affiliation with the landmark Schumann's Resturant.
